BASINGSTOKE Bison hit Bracknell Bees for six to record a tenth consecutive home league win. A crowd of nearly 1,200 packed inside planet Ice and were treated to a goalfest by the Herd, who produced a ruthless performance to down their opponents. Predictably it was Slovakian hitman Ondrej Lauko who opened the scoring after little more than a minute.
His opener set the tone for a busy night in the Bracknell third as Nicky Chinn and Shaun Thompson made it 3-0 shortly after. The Bees did pull one back before the first buzzer sounded as Michael Pinc netted but Chris Wiggins killed off any hopes of a comeback with a goal of his own. Lauko rounded off the scoring after Tony Redmon’s fifth to secure a 6-1 win for Steve Moria’s men.
On Sunday the Herd travelled to fellow ex-Elite League side Manchester Phoenix and left with a hard-fought 4-2 win. Steve Moria opened the scoring for Bison before an Ed Courtney double for the home side. But a second from the Bison player/coach levelled proceedings and Shaun Thompson rounded off a great weekend for Bison by smashing in a fourth.
