HOOK: A mum-of-two who designed a gaming app teaching children about the dangers of the Internet is a finalist in national technology awards.
Stella James has been shortlisted in the 2016 FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards in the start-up founder award category for her creation Gooseberry Planet.
The single mum, from Rotherwick, near Hook, designed the app after her eldest son got his first mobile phone when he started secondary school.
The game, launched in 2014, allows the player to travel through a virtual world where they are confronted by situations to test their initiative.
The awards are being held on February 23 at the London Hilton in Park Lane.
