Budget is a good thing, says town entrepeneur

Basingstoke entrepenuer and businesswoman Liz Jackson has had her say on last week’s Emergency Budget, claiming it is a good thing for the country. Liz formed Great Guns Marketing with just a £1,000 loan and the company now turns over more than £2.5million. The company’s success is even more remarkable considering Liz lost her sight completely as a result of the eye disorder Retinis Pigmentosa.

Naomi House children’s hospice, based in Winchester, had the money frozen in the British bank Kaupthing, Singer and Friedlander in October 2008. The banks administrators have indicated 75per cent of the funds will be returned and Hampshire Primary Care Trust this week agreed to a £1.5million grant.

The loss hit Naomi House hard, and charity bosses launched a...
