Budget is a good thing, says town entrepeneur

Basingstoke entrepenuer and businesswoman Liz Jackson has had her say on last week’s Emergency Budget, claiming it is a good thing for the country. Liz formed Great Guns Marketing with just a £1,000 loan and the company now turns over more than £2.5million. The company’s success is even more remarkable considering Liz lost her sight completely as a result of the eye disorder Retinis Pigmentosa.

There is great cause for optimism for entrepreneurs following Chancellor George Osborne’s budget, she claims. “Small businesses will be relied on to help boost the economy, so it is essential that the government encourages growth in these organisations. As an entrepeneur and business owner, Mr Osborne’s comments in the Emergency Budget will have pleased people like us.

"A decrease in corporation tax, the extension of the enterprise guarantee scheme and entrepeneur relief on capital gains tax will definitely endear him to the business community. It was also hugely positive to hear him say that the UK will have one of the lowest rates of corporation tax in the G20 and I am in full support of this move. It will make Britain more competitive and will attract more businesses to the country. Despite all the jeering from the Labour party during the Chancellor’s speech, the coalitition government seems to have enterprise at its core and that is undoubtedly a good thing for business and Britain as a whole.”
