The service offers users the option of a 'pay as you use' or discounted office space from as little as £3 an hour or £10 a day. Similar schemes are now open in Whitchurch, Fareham, Havant and Gosport.
The facilities comprises of internet ready workspace with at least two PC equipped desks as well as optional secretarial support and courier organisation. It is hoped entrepreneurs, business start-ups, commuters and more will take advantage.
Leader of Hampshire county council, Cllr Ken Thornber, said: “Smarter Working Centres offer a more flexible approach for those who need occasional access to office or meeting space and are a cost effective alternative to working from home or taking a long term rental. They are great for entrepreneurs to meet and exchange ideas and for businesses to work collaboratively.
“Anyone looking for flexible use office accommodation in the Basingstoke area will find Worting House an impressive environment to operate from with a galleried entrance hall and high quality décor. I hope that people will give smarter Working a try to see how it can benefit tem.”
