The council have praised students across Basingstoke for their A-level results.
The results which came on Thursday 19, saw many ecstatic students celebrating the end of months of waiting for their important grades.
Colleges across the town posted strong pass rates in A-level examinations. Queen Mary's College reported a 99 per cent pass rate with 45 per cent achieving a B or over.
Basingstoke and Deane portfolio holder for education, Councillor Karen Cherrett, said: “I delighted for all our young people in Basingstoke.
“We have seen an increase in success and that comes down to the focus and drive of all our schools and colleges. It shows the hard work that people across Basingstoke have been putting into their studies.
“There is a strong network across the borough of parents and teachers and a very good group of parents who are supportive of their children."
Cllr Cherrett said that while everyone should be proud of their results, there was no room to be complacent about the results.
She said: “Education is a hard market to do well in, we have to ensure that we keep looking after the next generation coming though.
