The full line-up for this summer’s Basingstoke Live festival has been announced.
The free, two-day musical fiesta in the War Memorial Park starts on July 9 with drum and bass DJ Andy C headlining, and wraps up with The Blockheads on July 10.
The borough council-funded event will also showcase local talent across five stages.
Fresh from their performance at the Madjeski Stadium, Basingstoke five-piece RetroGrade will perform on the main stage, and 11-year-old singer songwriter Lauren Thalia will perform on the Unplgd! stage.
Borough council cabinet member for culture, Councillor Cathy Osselton, said the weekend would be a great showcase for Basingstoke’s musicians.
She said: “This year’s Basingstoke Live looks set to be the best ever, with a growing and well deserved reputation in the region for the talent that it attracts.
“Well-known bands and a range of different performers mean that local people can get together to enjoy a real festival atmosphere right here in Basingstoke.
“As well as giving people a weekend to remember it is also a chance to showcase the wealth of local talent that we have in the borough.”
