Boy in a critical condition after road collision

Crime-police-tapeA 15-year-old boy is in a critical condition after a road accident in Basingstoke on Thursday last week.

The accident happened at 4.15pm when a skip lorry travelling along Pack Lane towards Brighton Hill roundabout collided with the teenager, who was crossing the road near High Drive junction.

The youth, from Basingstoke, received severe head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The lorry driver, a 43-year-old man from Reading, escaped unhurt.

Officers from Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident or the lorry or pedestrian prior to the collision.

If you can help, call Sergeant Lyndon Barrett at Whitchurch, quoting Operation Bushmead, on 101.
