A new care home in Bramley officially opened its doors this month.
Sir John Madejski declared Cherry Blossom Manor on German Road open for business on January 12.
Sir John greeted residents and guests before revealing a commemorative plaque.
Residents and staff were given tours of the purpose-built care facility, run by Barchester Healthcare.
Sir John said: “I've just had a look around and think that every aspect has been considered thoroughly. Barchester has a good track record and has really done it right with this extraordinary building.
“Everything one would want in a care home can definitely be found here. It really is second to none.”
Cherry Blossom Manor is a 77-bed care home providing residential services and dedicated dementia care.
John Ferguson, General Manager at Cherry Blossom Manor said: “The new facilities will provide high quality care for new residents.”
