A new radio station has offered a support group over £1000 of free airtime to raise their profile in Basingstoke.
Bizz Radio, which is due to launch in two weeks, have announced that they will support a newly formed breast cancer support group, The Pink Place.
The support group aims to help those who have been diagnosed with, or are recovering, from breast cancer.
Elaine Ward, lead fundraiser for The Pink Place, said: “We wanted to get the biggest exposure for The Pink Place across Basingstoke and felt Bizz Radio was the station to work with. We were overwhelmed with their unexpected generosity and help for our charity and thank them for their fantastic support.”
Phil Wickham, Director of Bizz Radio, said: “This is exactly what Bizz Radio is about, making a difference to people in and around Basingstoke. If by giving up some advertising revenue we can impact the lives of ladies across town who have had to deal with this terrible illness then we have achieved what the radio station is all about.
"We are delighted to offer The Pink Place the help they need as they launch this fantastic worthwhile charity and wish them all the very best.”
Bizz Radio will be launching on the internet on Monday, September 20.
