A Basingstoke business centre has launched an environmental survey through Twitter.
Chineham Park in Crockford Lane have set up Park Watch to monitor birds that visit the park in spring.
People based in the park have been asked to tweet all the birds they spot the social media website until May 6. Visitors, site users and members of the public are all being called on to help with the survey. The results collected throughout the month will be published at the end of May.
Rupert Batho, managing director for MEPC Chineham Park, said: “The ability to use social media on your mobile phone allows our occupiers and visitors to tweet what birds they see on the park instantly. Whether they are on their way to lunch, in their car or sat at their desk, Twitter is a convenient and quick way to collect data.
“We know from our occupiers that they do spot a wide variety of birds on the park and we wanted to get some more specific information about the birds that they see.”
People submitting the tweets for the do not need to be expert twitchers, and are asked to submit a short description of the bird.
To take part, tweet @Park_Watch
