A new community venue has been declared open for business.
Sherfield Park centre, off Rockbourne Road, was opened to hundreds of supporters on June 18.
The building was built using £2m from developer Croudace.
The community hub is made up of a sports hall, multi-function room, youth room, consulting room, café area, FA standard football pitches, changing rooms and crèche.
The day-to-day running of the centre has been handed to Sherfield Park Community Association. David Wilson Homes, who are building up to 45 houses at the site, will pay for a centre manager for five years.
Croudace Homes chairman Andy Yallop said: “As the developers of Sherfield Park, the centre is what we wanted to build, not what we were obliged to as part of our planning agreement.”
Mr Yallop handed the community association a cheque for £10,000 before the building was opened by Basingstoke mayor David Leeks.
