Drug raids result in homes closure

crime-policemenPolice closed two houses in Black Dam after obtaining crack house closure orders.

Basingstoke magistrates issued a closure order against 50 Holbein Close under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act and a closure order against neighbouring 48 Holbein Close was issued by Aldershot magistrates.

The orders, issued last month, mean no one can enter the properties for three months.

PC Dave Woods, field officer for Safer Streets, said: “Following a search warrant at 50 Holbein Close and the subsequent arrest of a resident at 48 and a search of his address, we discovered evidence of class A drug use linked to both properties.

“We also had complaints from residents about the suspected drug dealing activity involving both properties and disorder involving occupants and visitors and this information enabled us to apply for crack house closure orders.

“We work hard to tackle the issues that are important to the community and we have robust procedures in place to identify and deal with issues swiftly.

Anyone with information about drug dealing should contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods team 101.
