A young woman from Hartley Wintney has died following a crash near Fleet on Sunday.
Melissa Jeanne Landor of Hartford Road was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said her blue Vauxhall Corsa, travelling on the A323 towards Hartley Wintney, collided with an oncoming white Mercedes Sprinter van.
In a statement, her family paid tribute to the 23-year-old, saying: “She was a much-loved and a devoted daughter of Derric and Marie Helene Landor, sister to Floriane and Elliot with close French and American relatives.”
Ms Landor was born in London and lived in France from the age of five before returning to England in 1998.
She went to Greenfields Junior School in Hartley Wintney where she was awarded year six pupil of the year.
She went on to study at Robert Mays secondary school in Odiham, before finishing her studies at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke.
At the time of her death, she was working for Morrisons in Fleet.
“She enjoyed very spirited friendships, touched the hearts of many and brought much love to many people she knew and encountered during her life cut short,” the family said.
“She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.”
Police said the van driver, a 26-year-old man from Reading, was treated at Frimley Park Hospital for minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or who saw either vehicle before the incident.
