Fire Service support Brighton PRIDE

gay-pride-flag-738850The fire service showed its support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community by attending the Brighton PRIDE procession on Saturday, August 7.

The colourful route saw both gay and straight men and women marching from fire service.

Chief Officer for Hampshire Fire and Rescue, John Bonney, said: “Despite all the fun and celebration, there is a serious message behind the PRIDE event.The theme this year is PRIDE and (No) Prejudice and that is an important message for us. We are committed to ensuring there is no discrimination in all that we do, whether it be the services we provide to the public or how we treat our own staff.”
