Hook and Odiham Lions Club will be holding their annual duck race to raise money for charity.
The event will be held on Saturday September 4, with the first heat kicking off at 11am at the Crooked Billet Pub in Hook.
The club hopes to raise cash to donate between the cancer unit of Basingstoke and North Hants Hospital and Riding for the Disabled.
Greta Greig, president of the club said: “It is a very exciting thing for the kids. They are always very enthusiastic, running along to find out if their duck has made it.
“Each set of heats sees about hundreds of ducks floating down the river, some get toppled and some just don't make it. The kids enjoy it, hoping their duck wins, and the adults probably hope they can win one of the prizes.”
The winning duck of each heat wins a bottle of wine and the overall winner of final get a £100 cash prize.
The race is held on the river Whitewater behind the pub. £1 entry tickets can be bought from a member of the clubs fundraising team present at Hook Parade, Odiham, and Hartley Witney high street.
