Conservative candidate Maria Miller has won the Basingstoke seat in the general election, significantly improving her majority in the town.

Maria swooped to victory with more than 50% of the votes, beating Liberal Democrat John Shaw (24.5%) and Labour's Funda Pepperell came third with 20.4%.
