Motorcyclist dies after colliding with ambulance

A Basingstoke motorcyclist has died after colliding with an ambulance attending an emergency call on Tuesday.

The incident occurred just after 6pm on Tuesday, June 15 along the A3039 in Andover.

A 52-year-old rider of the red Triumph Daytona motorcycle crossed the central reservation of the dual carriageway and collided with an ambulance, which was travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of the ambulance and his crewmate were not injured. A section of the A3039 was closed for four hours to allow officers to conduct a full investigation. The red motorcycle is likely to have been accompanied by a black motorcycle prior to the collision.
