MP talks about disability provision in the borough

Basingstoke_Disaibility_Forum_-_MMBasingstoke MP Maria Miller met with members of the Basingstoke and Deane Disability Forum to hear views from residents.

The Coalition Government minister for disabled people met with joint chairpersons Marian Cornick and Mike Miller-Smith to discuss disability provision in the borough.

The move comes after Mrs Miller launched a survey on her website calling for disabled residents to provide feedback.

The nine-question survey asks residents how safe they feel at home, and how they rate buses, trains and specialist transport in Basingstoke.

The MP said: “It was very helpful for me to hear the views of the members of the disability forum, and we identified some areas, particularly in relation to employment, where we can work together to good effect.

“We all want to ensure that disabled people’s access to the town and its amenities and services are as good as they can be, and I will of course be keeping in touch with the forum.”
