The newly-launched Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced its elected council of governors.
The 26-strong council will meet four times a year to represent the views of the trust’s 18,500 members.
Up to 14 governors represent constituencies of north Hampshire and west Berkshire, middle and east Hampshire, and west and south Hampshire.
Governors also represent the views of the rest of England and Wales, and different healthcare departments.
Sitting on the north Hampshire and west Berkshire group are Alex Abbott, Joy Deadman, Dr Honora Smith, Marie-Louise Chandler, and Tony Green.
The council will work alongside the newly formed board of directors to ensure communities are able to have a voice in how services are delivered.
The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a merger of Basingstoke Hospital, Royal County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital launched on January 9.
Chairman of the trust, Elizabeth Padmore, said: ““I am delighted to announce the first council of governors for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as elected by our members.
“I am so pleased that the council of governors includes new faces and some familiar ones and I am confident that this is a great strength.
“We wanted our council of governors to be truly representative of the larger geographic area we now serve across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire.”
