Vyne students Paige McArdle (Left) and Annie Murphy (Right) celebrated a haul of A*s and A's.
Paige, from Chineham, obtained four A* in Drama, music and English. She said: “I did not expect to get what I did, I am very, very happy. She will go on to Queen Mary's college to study for her A-levels to study, English, history, music and film studies.
Annie, from Axeford, said she was very pleased with her haul of A's and B's. She said: “I was expecting to open up my results and see a page of B's. I am especially happy about the A in maths which is all I care about but I did not expect any of it.
“The exams were hard work but we put in a lot of effort.” She said that she will move on to Queen Mary's College in September to study history, politics, economics and maths."
From left to right, Vyne students Rhys Durrant, Ben Westbrook, Corey Pye and Grant Knight, with their GCSE's.
Grant Knight said that getting his GCSE's was particularly special as three years ago it was a very different story.
He said: “I'm really happy with my results, It has been really hard work. In year nine I didn't really work at all. But from year ten I realised I had to buck up my ideas to get what I wanted. I was taken to one side and they told me what I needed to do which gave me a good kick into action.
Now I want to go onto college and university and I hope that I can be a PE teacher.”
Correy Pye said that with his grades he wants to go to Basingstoke College of Technology to study catering. He said that he is excited about his future but sad about leaving school. He said: “When you go onto college you have to really want it and love what you are doing which is exciting. I have some great memories of my time here.”
Ben Westbrook has already left The Vyne and is now studying at Farnborough military college with the RAF as a regiment gunner. He said: “At military college everything is really hands-on which I prefer but it's still sad to leave to school and all your friends.”
