Sherfield show success

Week36_SherfieldVillagers from Sherfield-on-Loddon proudly showed off their prized home grown flowers, fruit and vegetables at the village hall on Saturday, September 4.

The 44th Sherfield Show saw displays of gardening, floral art and cookery.

Sherfield Show Committee judges handed out cups and trophies for 23 different competitions.

Hack attack for new station

Week35_Bizzradio-1A Basingstoke online radio station had to switch websites because its servers were hacked twice.

Bizz Radio, which is set to launch on September 20, found  their site had been hacked on Tuesday, August 17 and Friday, August 27.

The attacks altered the banners across the website directing viewers to a Turkish page. Bizz Radio also found that some website data had been removed

MP campaign for Old Basing Post Office

Week36_Maria_Miller_Post_OfficeBasingstoke MP Maria Miller is calling for a mobile Post Office in Old Basing.

Residents only have limited access to Post Office services due to the closure of the Belle Vue Road sub post office over two years ago.

Ms Miller said: “A Post Office is still a necessity in any residential area. For Old Basing residents the removal of the number 12 bus route means that now the option of travelling to the Post Office in Chineham Shopping Centre is more difficult.

Naomi House charity auction

Week36_Naomi_House-1Naomi House Children's Hospice are calling for people to sign up for their first ever charity auction.

The charity evening will be held on Friday, October 15. The evening includes a three course dinner hosted by Basingstoke comedian Jan Jack.

With support from Basingstoke IT company, Computer 2000, the event will have a personalised wedding dress, spa days and golf days going under the auctioneers hammer.

Week35_cross_dresser-1A Basingstoke cross-dresser is turning his life around by starting up a business - making fake silicone breasts.

Christopher Blair, 33, from South Ham, started his company Bountiful Bosoms after being made redundant from a job he held for over ten years.
