Two hospital radio volunteers nominated for awards

SDC11123Two volunteers from Hospital Radio Basingstoke have been nominated for top awards.

Rosemary Kershaw and Mark Keavney are up for Best Female Presenter of The Year and Best Male Presenter Of The Year at the National Hospital Radio Awards.

But for the first time since the awards were launched in 2004 the station has missed out on being nominated for Station Of The Year .

The pair are up against 10 other nominees in their categories.

Anna Trevelyan, committee member for the station, said: “We are really excited to have two of our presenters nominated for the awards this year.

“As volunteers, they work so hard for our charity and make a real difference to a patient’s experience in hospital.

“Hopefully, this will encourage other budding local presenters to get on the air – it’s a fantastic way to get yourself heard and really make someone’s day.”
