Funding has been released by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for a scheme to extend and refurbish Down Grange athletics track. An additional two lanes are to be built, as well as a resurfacing of the entire track, and the floodlighting will be upgraded along with refurbishment of the field event area. The work is a flagship project for the borough in advance of the 2012 London Olympics.
