A woman had her bag stolen during a theft in the town centre earlier this month.
The incident occurred sometime between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, June 1 when the 26-year-old victim was walking over the bridge from Festival Place to Crown Heights with a friend.
As they walked they were approached by a man who pushed them to the floor.
When the woman stood up she realised her wrist bag, containing a grey and black mobile phone, set of keys and bank card, was missing.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 5ins tall, slim, bald head wearing grey clothes.
PC Dumisani Sikhosana, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This incident happened during the afternoon when other people would have been around and somebody may have seen the man responsible.
“If you were in the area at the time and saw anything that could help our investigation please contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Sikhosana at Basingstoke police station on 101 or by calling the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
