A murder investigation that has spanned more than two and a half years has seen a man arrested this week.
Georgina Edmonds was battered to death with her rolling pin having been tortured for her bank card pin number at her cottage in Brambridge in January 2008.
Now a 31-year-old has been arrested over the murder and was taken into police custody at 5am on Wednesday, June 30.
Georgina is the widow of Basingstoke coffee merchant Harry Edmonds and her body was found by her son, also called Harry, who ran The Edmonds Group next to the Observer offices in Paddington House, in Festival Place.
Police upped their investigation last month, searching a river near her home and have also been using DNA swabs in a bid to track the killer.
It is believed the attacker used her cash card at a Tesco Express in Twyford Road, only a few miles from the cottage, at 22.38pm that night.
A reward of £30,000 was made available or information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
