A man had his wallet and phone stolen following an unprovoked assault in the town last month.
The incident occurred at around 11.50pm on Monday, May 31 when the 30-year-old victim was walking along Flaxfield Road.
He was approached by two men who punched him in the face before stealing his wallet and Nokia 3310.
He suffered cuts to his nose as a result of the attack.
Both men are described as Asian, one around 25 years old and the other between 19 and 20 years old.
PC Christopher Pike, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a nasty incident that happened late in the evening.
“We would ask anyone in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact us as soon as possible.”
