Cigarettes stolen in Buckskin store raid

crime-policemenPolice have launched an appeal for information following an overnight raid on a Basingstoke store.

According to police the Co-op in Blackdown Close, Buckskin was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Officers were called after the gang tripped the shop's alarm system. When they arrived the front entrance had been smashed.

The burglars stole cigarettes, which at the time of going to press the value of was unknown, and had fled before the cops arrived.

It is believed the burglars broke into the Buckskin store between 12.40am and 1.10am.

Investigating detective Natalie Stallworthy asked for witnesses to contact the police.

“The shop is in a built-up residential area so it is possible that someone saw or heard something in the area at that time,” she said.
