Fork-lift truck blaze sparks police appeal

A PAIR of fork-lift trucks were set on fire in an alarming incident earlier this month. The incident occurred overnight between Tuesday, February 9 and Wednesday, February 10. Between 5pm and 7am the vehicles, at W.T Burdens Ltd on the Brick Kiln Industrial Estate were set on fire.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and put out the fire however their investigation could not determine whether it was deliberate. PC Stephen Eadsforth, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “We want to find out how these trucks caught fire and would ask anyone with information to contact us. “If you saw anything suspicious in the area on Tuesday night, please get in touch.” Anyone with information on the incident can contact PC Eadsforth at Basingstoke police station on 101 or by calling the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
