Police in Whitchurch are appealing for witnesses after two laptops and cash was stolen during a smash and grab raid earlier this month.
Shortly before 4am on February 1, offenders – believed to be two white men wearing dark clothing and about 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall - smashed a window of a house in London Street, Whitchurch.
Police believe that the two men were searching for car keys but were disturbed by the occupants. The pair fled in a dark-coloured hatchback car, towards Basingstoke.
It has since been discovered that cash and two laptops were taken in the robbery. PC Dave Cook called for anybody with information to come forward and urged residents to make sure their homes were well locked up.
“This happened on a main route through the town and it’s possible that someone may have seen this vehicle or something suspicious,” he said.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to make sure their doors and windows are kept secure and that keys and other valuables are kept out of sight.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
