Man attacks pair with a ratchet

crime-policemenA man has been arrested and bailed after attacking two people with a ratchet in South Ham on April 1.

The incident happened on Kings Road. A man and a woman were walking on the street when they noticed a silver Vauxhall Astra stop at the junction with St Patricks Road.

A 33-year-old who was known to the pair got out of the car and started shouting abuse at them.

He then took out a ratchet from the car boot and began to chase them. He swung at them, missing the woman, but injuring the man’s hand.

The pair managed to escape and the attacker fled in his car.
