Man in hospital after town assault

A man required hospital treatment after being attacked in the town earlier this month.

The incident occurred at around 9pm on Friday March 12 when a 26-year-old was assaulted outside his home by two men. During the attack, one of the men cut the victim’s face and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

The first man is described as white, aged between 21 and 22, skinny build, black hear wearing a black hooted top with white writing and blue jeans.

The second is described as the same age, 5ft 6ins tall, skinny build with brown hair wearing a white t shirt and grey zip up top.

Detective Constable Katie Barry, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This was a serious assault and the victim suffered a nasty head injury requiring hospital treatment. It happened at a time in the evening when other people may have been about and witnessed it. We would ask anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible.”
