Man robbed of birth certificate

crime-policemenA birth certificate and more than £300 was stolen from a man in Bromley.

The 43-year-old was walking along a path near the railway line and Hillside Road at around 11.30pm on Sunday September 12 when he was approached from behind and hit over the head.

During the attack, the victim dropped his coat, which was taken by the robbers, along with  the man’s possessions in the pockets.

The man, who was left with head bruises, told police that two or three men were responsible, one of whom was wearing a white baseball cap and trainers.

PC Paul Thorne of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team is appealing for witnesses, and he has urged residents in the Bramley area to be vigilant and stick to well-lit paths when walking alone at night.

Anyone with information about the mugging should call PC Thorne at Basingstoke police station on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
