Nothing taken in bookies raid

A bookies on the grounds of Basingstoke Town Football Club was broken into earlier this month prompting an appeal for information from police.

Access was gained to the Coral bookmakers, at The Camrose ground, after two men attempted to break into a side fire exit before breaking through the front door between 2am and 3am on Monday, April 12.

The shop was searched but nothing was stolen.

PC Stephen Eadsforth, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “A large amount of noise would have been caused while this burglary was taking place and someone may have heard or seen something. If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious please contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Eadsforth at Basingstoke police station on 101 or by calling the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
