A children’s play side has been completely destroyed following a fire at a playing fields in Overton.
Sometime overnight between Tuesday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 2 a fire was started under a climbing frame and slide at Edward Kersley playing fields.
PC Richard Baldwin, of the Overton Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: “Playing with fire is extremely dangerous and although nobody was injured somebody could have been badly hurt. This is also a frustrating incident as the people affected by this are the children who use and enjoy the play area. We would ask anyone with information or who knows who was responsible to contact us as soon as possible.”
