Indecent assault sparks manhunt

UnknownDetectives are hunting a man who indecently assaulted two teenage girls within a few minutes of each other.

An efit has been release in a bid to trace the man.

According to the police, in two separate attacks, two 17-year-old girls were subjected to debauched comments and an attempt to grab them by a man in his 50s.

The first incident happened shortly before 4pm. The girl was walking from the town centre towards Sarum Hill when she noticed she was being followed.

Police hunt for bag snatcher

10-2011-Wk41_police_efit_October_5Detectives have released an e-fit following a bid to solve a robbery which took place earlier this month.

The incident occurred  on September 8 between 9.40pm and 9.50pm.

According to the police the victim, a 29-year-old woman was sat on a bench in Glebe Gardens park when she was approached by a man asking for a light. He then snatched her bag, containing hundreds of pounds in cash, and ran off.

Borough crime under the spotlight with new website launch

9-2011-Wk40_Crime_ReportsConcerned residents can now get up to the minute information on crimes in their neighbourhoods.

On September 27 police chiefs heralded the launch of the CrimeReports website as a way to get people more involved with local policing.

The online venture is a partnership between Hampshire police, the county council, the fire service, the probation service and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Police hunt man after comments made to 10-year-old

Police are hunting for a man who made an inappropriate comment to a young girl causing her to run away in fear.

Officers said a 10-year-old girl was on her way home along Dankworth Road, near to the Haydn Road subway, on September 21 at 4.30pm.

The youngster was walking behind a man, who stopped and started to tie his shoelaces. As she walked past him he snatched her arm and made the comment. The girl broke free and ran home.

Tablet computer pinched from Basingstoke flat

Police are appealing for information after a tablet computer was stolen from a flat in Basingstoke.

Some time between 9am and 2pm on Monday, September 26, a Flytouch Super 3 Pad was taken from the home in Skippetts Gardens. The device, worth about £300, all the leads and the original box were taken from the flat.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
