Image of man released following OAP attack

10-2011-Wk43_efit_Odiham_Wharf_attackDetectives investigating an assault on an elderly man at Odiham Wharf at the end of August have issued an E-Fit of him in a bid to establish fresh leads.

At 4.30pm on August 26, a 73-year-old man was at the wharf when he offered a lift to a man who claimed to have sprained his ankle.

The man was directed to a country lane where he was dragged from his car, kicked and punched before his car was stolen. This was later discovered on fire in Icknield Way, Andover.

Police hunt for cycling flasher

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was seen flashing in Hatch Warren on Wednesday last week.

The incident occurred in Preston Close at 9pm. The man fled after being confronted by a resident.

He was in his mid-40s to 50s, 5ft 10ins tall and slightly overweight. He wore a black woolly hat, plain jogging bottoms and a light coloured top under a dark fleece jacket.

Rural crime crackdown

County cops are stopping vehicles carrying plant machinery and towing trailers as part of a crackdown on rural crime in Basingstoke.

The operation was launched yesterday (Wednesday, October 12) at the Tot Hill services on the A34 at Burghclere.

Earlier this year, police issued an appeal after thieves stole more than £1,000 worth of garden tools from an farm outbuilding in Longparish, near Whitchurch.


South Ham crime spree sparks police hunt

crime-policemenPolice are on the hunt for  two burglars following an eight-day crime spree in South Ham.

Between September 15 and September 23, there have been nine incidents reported where offenders have broken into homes using an implement pushed through the letterbox to open the front door and steal handbags and wallets.

According to witnesses the crooks had been disturbed on occasions and spotted fleeing.

Tadley thief pinches jewellery

Jewellery and watches were pinched from a Tadley home after a burglar broke in through an upstairs window.

Police are trying to trace a door-to-door salesman seen in the area at between 12.30pm and 4.40pm on September 27.

He is white, of medium build, with short or blond hair, wearing a red jacket and spoke with a northern accent.
