Police appeal after a suspicious incident

Crime-police-tapeA 13-year-old girl was left shaken and disturbed after an incident on Monday August 2.

The girl was walking along Harrow Way towards Brighton Hill, Basingstoke, at around 4pm when a black car drove past and driver sounded the horn. The car turned around at Viables Roundabout back towards the girl. As the car passed for the second time the driver shouted out to the girl.

The car then pulled up behind the teenager and she ran off along Loggon Road and onto Cranbourne Road. The driver of the vehicle did not follow her.

The driver is described as mixed race in his mid 20s of medium build with very short dark hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans.

“We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the driver or the vehicle,” said PC Chris Pike, of the Farnborough Targeted Patrol Team

“We also want to hear from anyone who has been followed by a similar vehicle or has had a similar experience.”

Contact PC Pike at Farnborough police station on 101 with information.
