Police in Basingstoke have released an E-fit of a man they wish to trace as part of an investigation into an assault in the town on Friday, October 1.
Sometime between 10.40pm and 10.50pm, a 15-year-old boy was walking through the War Memorial Park when he was approached by a man and punched in the face.
During the assault, the man made a comment that he thought the teenager was responsible for a robbery earlier that evening.
The boy suffered a possible broken nose and a cut close to his right eye. He was taken by ambulance to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital for treatment.
PC Matt Sard, from the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “Do you recognise this man? If so, please get in touch. This was a totally unprovoked attack and we’d like to hear from anyone who can help us find the person responsible.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Sard at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
