Basingstoke crime fall

Crime-fingerprintBasingstoke has witnessed an overall fall in crime during the first three months of this year.

Police have announced that there was an 8 per cent decrease in reported crime from January to March 2010.

Police appeal after a suspicious incident

Crime-police-tapeA 13-year-old girl was left shaken and disturbed after an incident on Monday August 2.

The girl was walking along Harrow Way towards Brighton Hill, Basingstoke, at around 4pm when a black car drove past and driver sounded the horn. The car turned around at Viables Roundabout back towards the girl. As the car passed for the second time the driver shouted out to the girl.

Two hurt in crash

Crime-police-tapeTwo men were seriously injured in a collision in Newbury Road, Whitchurch on August 2.

A silver Audi A4 collided with a blue Volkswagen Passat on the B3051 at 10.15am.

The driver of the Audi, a 55-year-old man from Overton was taken to North Hampshire Basingstoke while the Passat driver, a 31-year-old man from Bournemouth was transferred to Southampton General Hospital.

Petition for justice after dog attack

Website_Uploads-4A Basingstoke manis demanding justice after his dog required emergency surgery to his neck following a vicious attack in the town.

David Hall, of Freemantle Close, has launched a petition this week to force the police to take further action after his dog was savagely mauled while out on a walk.

Pedestrian hurt

A 24-year-old man was severely injured when he was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa on Aldermaston Road South, Basingstoke, at 8.40pm on Tuesday last week. The 21-year-old male driver was unhurt.
