A man woke up to find his face had been cut by an intruder while fast asleep in his bed.
The 33-year-old man was sleeping at his home in Titchfield Close, Tadley, between 8pm and 11pm on November 9 when the incident happened.
Police said someone broke into the home and slashed the mans face. He needed stitches to his ear and suffered cuts to his forehead.
Nothing was taken during the incident.
PC Victoria Brewer, from the Whitchurch Targeted Patrol Team, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who can help us identify this man’s attacker.
“Unfortunately the victim was asleep and did not see who assaulted him, and only found his injuries when he woke some time later.
“At the moment we believe this is a case of mistaken identity and appears to have been a one-off incident, however residents should be reminded to ensure all doors and windows are secure before going to bed to prevent any kind of unwanted access to your home.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Brewer at Whitchurch police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
