Teen punched in home raid

Crime-fingerprintA TEENAGER was punched after being disturbed by burglars in his home in a terrifying raid earlier this month.

The incident occurred at around 5.20am on Sunday, February 14 when thieves gained access to an address in Sibelius Close.

The 16-year-old who lives at the address had been woken and went to find out what was going on.

When he went downstairs he saw two men dressed in black, one punched him and they both left – taking a computer and Playstation 3 with them.

PC Paul Southey, of the Basingstoke Priority Crime Unit, said: “Although this burglary happened during the early hours of the morning someone may have been disturbed and seen something.

“We believe the man left the address in a dark coloured saloon car and we would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Sunday morning to contact us as soon as possible.”

“Anyone with information can contact PC Southey at Basingstoke police station on 101 or by calling the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
