A teenage boy was attacked by a middle age man on January 6, and police have issued an appeal in a bid to trace his assailant.
According to detectives, the 17-year-old victim was confronted in an underpass on Hatch Warren Lane, near Beethoven Road, at around 9pm.
He was attacked by a white man, believed to be in his late 30s. The teen was not injured.
Officers described the attacker as 5ft 10in, bald and chubby with stubble on his face. He wore blue jeans, white trainers and a black jacket.
Detective Constable Simon Quickfall urged witnesses to come forward. “This is a busy road with a park nearby which is regulary used by dog walkers so someone may have seen something," he said.
“The underpass is well-used and there is a layby near it which is also used by taxi drivers.”
Anyone with information should call Det Con Quickfall at Basingstoke police station on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
