A MAN was knocked to the ground in an assault at the end of last month. Police are now appealing for information to trace the attacker, following an incident at 3.10am on Saturday, January 30. A 34-year-old an was walking along Penrith Road when he was approached by a man who punched him and knocked him to the ground. The victim suffered a swollen lip and sore head.
PC Nick Beech, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “The assault happened in the early hours of the morning but someone may have been disturbed and seen something that could help our investigation. “If you have any information please contact us as soon as possible.” Anyone with information can contact PC Beech at Basingstoke police station on 101 or by calling the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
