Children from the Sunshine Daisy Nursery in Andwell waved goodbye to their pre-school and got ready for the next stage of their education with a special ceremony in front of staff and parents.
The eight youngsters, donned gowns and mortarboards to graduate from the pre-school, at Priory Farmhouse, on August 24, ahead of their first day at infant school next month. The four-year-old children are heading to schools in Old Basing, Hook and Odiham, and are the first class to graduate from the pre-school, which opened two years ago this month.
Nursery manager Claudia Padfield said: "Despite doing this job for many years, saying goodbye is always difficult. It's the first group that's gone all the way through the pre-school and the girls have built up really strong relationships with their key children. They are quite characterful as a bunch and will leave a big hole."
Mum Claire Janaway watched son Henry, four, pass out of the pre-school and said: "It's more emotional than I expected it to be. I'm very proud, really. They've created a very homely environment here."
