The time of year has come again for the residents of Basingstoke and Deane to swing into action with their garden tools in readiness for the annual event that encourages and awards local people’s efforts to enhance the appearance of their local environment, bringing people together to take pride in their place.
In previous years’ judges have been very impressed with many of the gardens and open spaces they have seen during their visit and awarded several of our residents, community groups and primary schools with a regional certificate of excellence. This year Basingstoke will be entering South and South East in Bloom again and with your help we are going for gold.
There are three Basingstoke in Bloom competitions; the best front gardens in the borough, the best photographs of the borough and the best primary school gardens in the borough. These are judges by local independent horticultural experts and the winners will be awarded their prizes at the Basingstoke in Bloom Presentation Ceremony which takes place in October.
If you would like further in formation on how to get involved, go to: /www.basingstoke.gov.uk/go/inbloom or contact Blanche Miles on 01256 845688.
