Festival Place has been honoured for its eco-initiatives at a nationwide event.
The Basingstoke shopping complex has been awarded a Green Apple Award for Retail – its fourth victory in a row. The awards are run by the Green Organisation to recognise and reward environmental best practice.
National organiser Roger Wolens commented: “Organisations that go the extra mile and become Green Heroes are demonstrating a serious commitment to the world around them. They invest in a better future for us and deserve to be recognised for their efforts.”
Festival Place has taken steps to reduce the impact it has on the environment, including high visibility recycling bins.
Centre director Steve Connolly said: “We are very proud to have been awarded a gold Green Apple Award. The team are bursting with innovative ideas and are keen to implement researched systems that will help further reduce the centre’s impact on the planet.”
