Abi Titmuss has been confirmed as the star of this year’s Christmas panto at The Anvil.
Having wowed the town with her performance in The Naked Truth, Abi will return as The Wicked Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, which opens on Thursday, December 9. This is the first time Sleeping Beauty will be performed at the town’s premier arts venue and promises to be a spectacular new production complete with dazzling special effects. Abi made her theatre debut in 2006, earning rave reviews in The Two Way Mirror and has appeared as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.
Her CV boasts film, theatre and television credits. Also taking their place on stage will be BAFTA Award winning actress Wendy Craig who plays The Good Fairy. Wendy has been seen most recently in the BBC’s Reggie Perrin, playing the title character’s mother.
The role of Silly Billy will be played by Andrew Agnew, who will be known to youngsters for playing PC Plum in Balamory, on CBeebies. Andrew has played Wembley Arena as part of the Cbeebies Live Fantasy Circus and has completed a nine-month tour as PC Plum in CBeebies at the Theatre – Let’s Play.
The Anvil has once again joined forces with UK Productions and is confident another high quality, traditional pantomime will delight the borough this winter.
