Ice fun at the fair

Thousands descended on a popular estate hosting its annual summer celebration at the end of last month.

Highclere Country Fair took place across the Bank Holiday Weekend promising an experience of country living at its best. A record number flocked to the estate to watch and take part in a host of rural activities. The event also saw top marksman take part in the third and fourth rounds of the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting as well as the Gundogs Championship.

Chief Executive Ian Hardford said: “Highclere’s Country Fair is much more than your average country show. Our World Class Championship competitions are unrivalled b anybody else and not only offer the biggest prizes in the world, the variety of field sports and competitions that take place attract a huge international following too.

“Whether you’re after some fast-paced championship action or simply want to kick back and relax while taking in the stunning surroundings, Highclere has something for all.”

Buoyed by the brilliant Bank Holiday weather, visitors took part in have-a-go displays - including falconry – and were kept entertained by a range of musicians.
