Indie rock heroes British Sea Power headline an exciting line-up at the 2,000-capacity Woolfstock Festival in north Hampshire next month.
The critically acclaimed, Brighton-based group are renowned for their epic, guitar led sounds and cerebral, innovative live shows in museums, libraries and anywhere else that takes their fancy.
“We’re really looking forward to playing at such a beautiful location and festival,” said British Sea Power singer and guitarist, Yan Scott Wilkinson.
Also on the bill at the festival, which runs from noon until breakfast the next day and is now in its second year, are pop-folkers 6 Day Riot, the Blondie-esque sounds of Elsie, masters of the mash-up The Kleptones, Scottish band The Draymin, the melodic Paris Riots, Pegasus Bridge in what is likely to be their penultimate gig and producer and electro DJ Dirty Jemz.
Other attractions include woodland adventures, fun fair rides, an afternoon tea party, and fortune telling in a gypsy caravan. After midnight, the stage becomes a dance arena so revellers can party until dawn with a special DJ set from The Kleptones.
The festival is held in the rolling countryside that inspired Watership Down, and festival director Jeremy Woolfenden said the event provided a contrast to huge, mega-festivals like Reading and Glastonbury.
“It’s the perfect antidote to a glut of large, impersonal corporate sponsored festivals," he said. "Woolfstock boasts a killer musical line-up headlined by critically acclaimed indie rockers British Sea Power, a stunning festival site and the finest festival fodder and antics on offer.”
Organic food and beverages will be supplied by local suppliers including Laverstoke Park. Tickets cost £50, with concessions available. There is free onsite parking and camping. For more information, visit www.woolfstock.com
